Meet Victoria: Athlete of the Month
Victoria | 12 years old | Cheerleading
This month, Athletics4Kids is proud to introduce Victoria, a skilled cheerleader and dancer based in Vancouver—as November’s Athlete of the Month. She only started cheerleading last year when she was accepted into the program, and has been training ever since. Through cheerleading, she has learned skills like teamwork, perseverance, organization, and focus; all of which has helped her get stronger and more flexible, while enabling her to perform complex moves in the air with her teammates.
While Victoria works hard in perfecting her moves, her mom, Li, is her biggest cheerleader. Starting with gymnastics, Li has always supported her daughter’s athletic pursuits despite the rising costs of sports all across BC. She didn’t want Victoria to feel held back from her full potential due to financial barriers; and so, reached out to A4K as she knew we are there to help families get their kids into sports. During the process, Li’s anxieties were also quickly resolved once Victoria received her grant and was able to continue with her cheerleading program.
Without our incredible network of donors and volunteers, kids like Victoria would be left on the sidelines due to financial barriers. At just $17 a month, you give kids in BC the opportunity to play sports through our Sport4Life Grant Program. Please click here to give generously today.
